Stinger Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Hi If you think you can help and have time to read my post i would very much appreciate it.I am a man that is defeated in the quest to repair his own car and now has to ask for HELP! The problem i have is that when my car runs between 2000- 5000 it revs very bad missing all the way ( with black soot from exhaust) I have a 2.0 petrol Galaxy 1996 that was running really rough, there were 3 studs out of 8 missing broken on exhaust manifold.Had all replaced & drilled and refitted with all new, idled better but still no joy between 2000-5000 revsanyway did all the normal things new maf sensor, leads ,plugs, service while i was at it with oil ,air & fuel filterstill no joy, sent ecu away and had it tested and it was fine ,had someone come round who put on his machines and said that the new maf sensor i bought was faulty ( well i did buy off ebay) so paid Quote

chrispb123456 Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 You could also try cleaning idle control valve with decarboniser. Quote

cyborg Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 hi as the crank sensor deteriorat's they can cause no start issues and poor idle pickup . however dying coils also cause missfires .. I would replace sensor first Quote
